  • Congrats to Layshia Clarendon on making the 2017 WNBA All Star game!
  • The Daily Cal takes a look at Cal alumni in the NBA Summer League. A bit more detailed than previous posts on the subject.
  • The Daily Cal also has more details on Sam Singer’s gold medal for Team USA in the Maccabiah games in Israel. He actually did more than his fair share for the team.
  • Team USA indoor volleyball has done a great job at the FIVB Grand Prix in Brazil, and its thanks to captain, and Cal alum, Carli Lloyd.
  • Fifteen Cal (or soon-to-be-Cal) rowers, seven women and eight men, are competing in Bulgaria for the 2017 World Rowing U23 Championships, representing the USA, Canada, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Austria and The Netherlands. You can watch the action HERE.
  • Check Cal Men’s Water Polo’s and Cal Women’s Water Polo’s Twitter accounts as they have solid and frequent updates on Cal players in the FINA World Championships in Hungary.

Gymnastics

  • Five men’s gymnastics players have gained postseason academic recognition by the College Gymnastics Association. Capri Sano, Michael Rauchwerger, Nicholas Del Junco and Adam Young made the First Team All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for earning a 3.50 grade point average or higher. Nathaniel Ramil made the second team for earning a 3.2-3.5 GPA. The entire team finished 9th in the College Gymnastics Association National Academic Team Champions rankings.
