Jaylen Brown looks like he’s ready for the NBA season to start again. Barely a month removed from the playoffs, Brown is attacking the basket with a ferocity usually reserved for midseason hoops.
Here’s Brown in a Summer League game for the Celtics baptizing two Portland Trailblazers. Their names might be familiar to you.
One is former Colorado forward Josh Scott, and the other was Caleb Swanigan, a big Cal recruiting target the year Brown surprisingly committed to the California Golden Bears.
One of the big what-ifs is what Cal would’ve been like if Swanigan, Ivan Rabb, and Brown had gotten to play with each other in 2015-16. How far could the Bears have gotten with that trio of freshman talent, coupled with the seasoned veterans for Cal already on the roster?
Fun note: Jorge Gutierrez (who has been playing in Turkey) is on the Blazers summer league bench. Gutierrez put up some nice counting stats.
He's back! @Cal legend & 2012 @Pac12 Player of the Year Jorge Gutierrez had 6 pts/5 reb/2 ast for the @trailblazers in summer league today. pic.twitter.com/qPF5EDzO2u
