Although Ivan Rabb got a ton of attention, Jabari has been working out with a ton of teams, and he definitely deserves this chance to make an NBA team. I’m guessing you’ll see Bird plenty in summer league in a few weeks to try and get a roster spot, hopefully playing with Brown!
Bird’s ability to catch and shoot was among the top in the nation. Even though he took a backseat to Rabb and Brown and Tyrone Wallace offensively, Bird still was able to produce strongly, shooting 41% from three in 2015-16 and averaged 14.3 points and 4.7 rebounds a game his senior campaign. Here’s hoping Bird can find a place to take his shooting ability and solid fundamentals and find a place for himself in the league, whether it’s with Boston or elsewhere!
Congrats to Jabari! Go Bears!
