Ivan Rabb is headed to the NBA! Rabb was selected with the 35th pick in the second round by the Memphis Grizzlies. Rabb is ready to contribute as a mobile power forward who seems like an ideal fit for the space and pace NBA.
Rabb has no regrets about returning to the California Golden Bears, even if it meant sacrificing a bit of his draft stock. Rabb said his sophomore season at Cal helped improve him as a player, and now he gets to contribute on a Memphis team that is in transition, with Zach Randolph nearing the end and Marc Gasol reaching the end of his prime.
In his sophomore season, Rabb became more of a focal point of the Cal offense, averaging 14 points, 10.5 rebounds, and a block a game while shooting 49% from the field. Rabb was the center of numerous double teams and saw his efficiency dip this season. However, his defense didn’t change, as he helped anchor a unit that for two seasons was top-20 in the nation.
Take a look at our scouting report on Ivan Rabb and see what he can bring to his new team!
