Cal basketball will play Seattle University in KeyArena

The schedule continues to fill out.

The California Golden Bears have one new addition to their 2017 non-conference schedule: A December road trip to Seattle! That’s an exciting opportunity for our Pacific Northwest alumni, as Cal will face a Seattle team they should be more than capable of beating.

Cal will play the Seattle Redhawks of the Western Athletic Conference on December 19th at KeyArena, Percy Allen of the Seattle Times reports. It’s a bit of an odd scheduling bit to see Cal travel on the road to face a midmajor this far away from home, given the lack of scheduling boost—Seattle finished 13-17 in the WAC last year and lost by 22 at home to next-to-last place Washington at home in 2017. A loss here would be disastrous for all RPI rankings next season.

Cal is also slated for a home game with St. Mary’s sometime in December at Haas Pavilion. They will be headed to Hawaii in November for the Maui Invitational, with three of Chaminade, LSU, Marquette, Michigan, Notre Dame, VCU and Wichita State on the docket.
