Golden Nuggets: Ivan Rabb Works out for the Lakers

The Pac-12 Academic honors keep rolling in. Who else has received awards this week?

NCAA Basketball: Southern California at California
Seems relevant to put a Rabb picture of him playing a team from LA.

Volleyball

  • From the side of evil to the side of good: Stanford men’s volleyball alum Spencer McLachlin, who was a volunteer coach for the UCLA men last year, becomes an assistant coach for head coach Matt McShane of the Cal women’s volleyball team. Cayley Thurlby becomes the director of operations for the team as well, after being the director of operations for the UCLA men for the past five years.

Rugby

Track and Field

  • 26 Cal athletes participated at the NCAA West Regionals. Only three Golden Bears punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships. Bethan Knights (women’s 10,000 meter run), Peter Simon (men’s shot-put), and Ashley Anderson (women’s triple jump).

Men’s Golf

  • William Aldred and Collin Morikawa were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First team. Walker Huddy was named to the Second team. Ben Doyle, Tanner Hughes, and Clayton Madey made the honorable mention squad.

Football

*** All Pac-12 Networks games will be shown on the national feed and the home team’s regional feed.

The exception is Weber State at Cal, which will air only on Pac-12 Bay Area. (The national feed will show UCLA-Hawaii.).

So if you’re a Cal fan living in Los Angeles, for instance, and your system doesn’t carry the Bay Area feed, you’re probably out of luck.
