Jaylen Brown played sparingly in Round 1 for the Boston Celtics, but he made some huge contributions in the first two games of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Brown came off the bench in the fourth quarter against the Washington Wizards and made two huge plays.
Brown hit a three on the assist from Isaiah Thomas and set up Jae Crowder for six points. Brown was a +8 in six minutes and helped the Celtics win Game 1.
Brown put up four points, two rebounds and two assists in Game 2, playing an additional 12 minutes. The Celtics are up 2-0 headed into tonight’s game.
Ryan Anderson found himself in a similar situation for the Houston Rockets, as he had trouble seeing the floor in Round 1. But he was invaluable in a Game 1 blowout of the San Antonio Spurs, putting up 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Anderson followed up with a better performance in Game 2, scoring 18 points on 7-9 shooting and eight rebounds. The Rockets and Spurs are tied 1-1.
