Duke transfer Chase Jeter is currently on an official visit to Cal, per a source.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) April 20, 2017
As a former McDonald’s All-American and 5-star recruit, Jeter is definitely the type of addition that would benefit Cal. After signing with Duke, Jeter was marred with injuries that left him sidelined for much of the two years he spent there.
When he did play though, the 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward showed off his high ceiling. His performance in Duke’s destruction of Marist earlier this season, one in which he put up 11 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 18 minutes, show his potential.
Although he has to redshirt next season, he would still have two years of eligibility, which could provide depth once Marcus Lee and Cole Welle have graduated. His father has been quoted saying, “I think the West Coast is good for him,” and that they are “looking at the Pac-12 right now”.
