The Bears started out strong by getting the game into Ivan Rabb’s hands and having him be aggressive and orchestrating the offense. Ivan Rabb ended the half with 7 Points on 3-7 shooting with 9 rebounds. Cal battled to keep ahold of the lead, and kept Colorado shooting under 25%. The Bears also found some help on offense beyond Ivan from Mullins and Bird. This was definitely a huge bonus considering only 1 player scored in double digits against Utah and that was Grant Mullins. Cuonzo Martin and Co., needed to keep being aggressive on offense and getting Ivan Rabb the Ball in 1-on-1 situations.
The Bears lost the lead halfway through the half. The team looked to be gassed as the game went on and the offense started to sputter with under 8 minutes left in the game. After the Bears shrunk the lead to 1, the Buffs turned the lead into a 6 point lead over 2 minutes. Cal was down 43-49 with 1:25 left to play. The Buffs nailed dagger 3 after dagger 3 and the Bears just could not match the offense.
