Davis Webb getting buzz as the first QB to be drafted

Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, former NFL Scouts, report on Webb’s rising stock in the Draft.

Texas v California

Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks are two of the best NFL Draft guys right now. Both of them have over a decade of NFL Scouting experience between the two. In their podcast “Move the Sticks” they have been going through the draft prospects.

In the most recent episode “162: Scouting Combine preview, talking to Myles Garrett’s high school coach” they talked about both Chad Hansen and Davis Webb. Bucky Brooks stated that while watching Davis Webb he thought Chad can “go get it” while marveling at how deep this class is (3 minute mark).

Bucky states that despite playing in the Air Raid system, Webb’s eyes, mechanics, arm talent, and progression can make him successful in a West Coast System. He was also compared to Sam Bradford. He ends his brief analysis saying that Webb will probably be drafted by the end of the 2nd round and may outplay his draft position a la Dak Prescott (Discussion about Webb start around the 9 minute mark and end at the 12 minute mark).

DJ pitches in saying that an NFL executive believes that conditional on a good Combine (work outs, drills, and interviews) will be a “Davis Webb kick off party, and push to be the first QB taken”.
