On the downside, Cal lost at home to Stanford on Thursday night. On the bright side, they were competitive. On the downside, Stanford is now one step closer to another friggin’ conference title, which they will immediately throw into the garage where it will be ignored collecting dust. On the bright side, if Cal were to somehow win it might spoil those chances. On the down side, Cal is again a significant underdog.

Nothing has changed about this team since we played them 3 games ago, other than the venue. With home court in Stanford’s favor, the computers say that they’re 16.5 point favorites. And yet oddly Cal has tended to play Stanford better at Maples than at Haas over the last 5 years or so. Here’s to hoping, cause it’s all we got. Go Bears!
