Michael Saffell faxes in Letter of Intent to Cal

Michael Saffell has signed with the Bears! The Huntington Beach (Ca.) Edison center stuck with the Bears after committing in October, and he faxed in his letter of intent today.

Safell was ranked as the 15th best offensive center by 247Sports Composite and the 120th best California prospect. He held offers from a few Mountain West programs as well as Columbia and Yale.

Saffell was one of the top centers on the west coast, but he has the versatility to play anywhere along the offensive line. He was named lineman of the year in his league and absolutely has the talent to succeed at the next level.

If head coach Justin Wilcox wants to succeed at Cal in the Pac-12, then he MUST recruit the trenches more than anything. Let’s hope Saffell is one of many talented lineman to end up at Cal during Wilcox’s tenure. Saffell should end up being an impact player for Cal down the line.
