Chase Garbers signs with Cal

Cal has their next quarterback in Newport Beach (Ca.) Corona Del Mar signal caller Chase Garbers. The four-star quarterback is set to join a crowded quarterback position along with Max Gilliam, Victor Viramontes, Ross Bowers, and Chase Forrest.

Garbers is the 14th best pro-style quarterback in this class and the 36th best California prospect according to 247Sports (0.8897 ranking). Garbers held offers from programs like ASU, Boise State, Boston College, Illinois, Ole Miss, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Washington, and Washington State, along with Ivy League programs like Brown, Cornell, and Yale.

His strength definitely lies in his arm strength and football IQ, though he will need to work on his accuracy if he wants to succeed at the next level.

Garbers performed well at Elite 11 camps and is another quarterback who has all the tools to succeed at the next level, and whoever emerges as Cal’s next quarterback will surely have earned it.
