Cal needs linebackers. Cal needs local Bay Area talent. The Bears got a combination of both in Oakley (Ca.) Freedom linebacker Kyle Harmon. Harmon decommitted this weekend from Cal Poly and then made his commitment to the Bears!

At 6’0”, 218 pounds, Harmon currently ranks as the 84th-best inside linebacker and 165th-best California prospect by 247Composite (Three-stars, 0.8113). Aside from Cal Poly, Harmon held offers from Army, Air Force, Cornell and several Mountain West programs. Check out the video highlights and see what Harmon is capable of.
A straight-A student raised by a single mom, Harmon has an inspiring story you should read about. Darren Sabedra from the Bay Area News Group has more.
Harmon is hopefully the first of many local Bay Area recruits Cal can start getting in their backyard. It’s been too long since the Bears have been able to pull East Bay talent. That dynamic has to change.
Welcome to Cal Kyle! Go Bears!
