Remember the last time Cal had a series with a team from Texas? That was pretty fun (if a bit hard on the ol’ cardiac system). Cal has an opportunity to continue to claim Texas as Bear Territory, as the Bears have announced a home-and-away series with North Texas.

Cal and the University of North Texas will play a two-game series in football, with the Mean Green visiting Berkeley in 2019 and the Golden Bears making the trip to Denton three years later. Cal is scheduled to host North Texas on Sept. 14, 2019, with the return game set for Sept. 10, 2022.

North Texas finished the 2017 regular season with a 9-4 record, captured the Conference USA West Division crown and will play Troy in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 16. The Mean Green are participating in a bowl for the second straight year and third time in the past five seasons.

This announcement completes the 2019 OOC schedule:

Aug. 31 – vs. UC Davis

Sept. 14 – vs. North Texas

Sept. 21 – at Ole Miss
