The Bears defense stumbled out of the gates, allowing Oregon State to score after running the ball with Tyner and Nall. Cal answered with a Patrick Laird touchdown and then a beautiful pass to Wharton on the outside. The Bears have been extremely successful running the ball so far and will look to Laird for more of the same in the second quarter.
