Cal is trailing UCLA 7-3 after the first quarter.
Cal started out the game super strong. Cal marched down the field into UCLA territory to start the first quarter. They started at their 29 and ended at the UCLA 29. But Matt Anderson missed a 46 yard field goal.
The Cal defense came out hitting with huge sacks on Josh Rosen and tackles for loss in general. UCLA and Cal exchanged punts, and then Cal nearly forced a UCLA safety before forcing an actual turnover. But Cal could only convert a field goal, and it’s 3-0 Bruins.
Josh Rosen marched down the field quickly after that. 7-3 UCLA just before the end of the first.
Patrick Laird has nine rushes for 54 yards. Ross Bowers is 4 for 9 for 28 yards.
This is the second quarter chat to discuss the California Golden Bears and the UCLA Bruins. Go Bears!
