SHOCK THE WORLD.

I think you can say it’s safe to say very few people think the California Golden Bears are going to beat the Stanford Cardinal outside of the Golden Bear faithful.

It appears that Vegas is taking the same approach.

The early lines are in. Cal is three-score underdogs. Stanford is favored by 17 points over Cal.

Cal has been favored in a grand total of one FBS game this season (Oregon State), and that trend looks like it’s going to continue through 2017. Cal has won three games as underdogs this season (North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Washington State), but this would be by far the biggest upset yet for the Bears. This would also be one of the largest Big Game upsets ever—Cal’s last victory over Stanford being this big an underdog came in 1986, when the Bears won as 21-point underdogs with a 1-9 record.

Go Bears! Beat Stanford.
