Cal Athletics has announced that Cal and UNLV will meet for the first time ever on the football field, beginning with the 2020 season opener. Oddly enough, the agreement is for a four-game home-and-away series (or home-and-home, if you’re averse to logically consistent statements).
The first-ever meeting between the schools is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Aug. 29, 2020. The series will also end in Las Vegas with a game on Sept. 5, 2026. In between, Cal will host the Rebels at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley on Sept. 17, 2022 and Aug. 30, 2025.
Last time Cal played in Vegas, Marshawn was running wild on BYU. Let’s hope the return trip is equally joyful.
