Defensive lineman Lonetona Toailoa Isara commits to Cal from community college!

A Kiwi commits to Cal from community college.

The Class of 2018 for the California Golden Bears just got a little bigger on the defensive line.

Isara is a defensive lineman playing at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), where he has spent the past three years (one of which was a redshirt). As a redshirt-freshman in 2016, Isara earned first-team honors on the Community College Football All-American team. The New Zealander was offered by “Colorado State, Georgia, Kansas, Kansas State and Purdue.”

Isara will be eligible to play in 2018 and have two years to play two. Reportedly an A-and-B student, Isara cited Cal’s status as an academic institution and coaches Tony Tuioti, Jerry Azzinaro, and Justin Wilcox as deciding factors.
