The California Golden Bears have parted ways with Coach Sonny Dykes. You may have heard.

Stunningly, it seems the news broke before our players could even hear it firsthand.

Vic Enwere and Josh Drayden were also blindsided by the news.

Once they got over the shock, Malik Psalms immediately started recruiting our next coach. Recent Cal grad Cedric Dozier echoed the sentiment.

Enwere is potentially questioning his future with the Golden Bears, which is a perfectly reasonable response given so much uncertainty.

While we search for our next coach, former–offensive coordinator Jake Spavital will serve as interim head coach. Psalms and Traveon Beck fully endorsed Spav in this role while Bug Rivera and Malik McMorris jokingly pushed Spavital for a scholarship.

And despite his involvement in scandal earlier this season, the players continued to support strength and conditioning coach Damon Harrington.

Despite being a youngin’ Cameron Saffle posted a mature, reassuring message to the Cal family.

Zeandae Johnson and Derron Brown have the same confidence--something they must have learned together on the defense.

UPDATE: Here is the response from Sonny Dykes.
