Poutasi was committed to Louisville earlier this cycle before reopening his recruitment to see what was available elsewhere. He decided on the Bears during his official.
At 6’3 and 275/280 pounds, the Las Vegas (Nv.) Desert Pines prospect is a three-star offensive guard (0.8478), ranked as the 43rd best offensive guard and the 11th best prospect out of Nevada. He held offers from a bunch of Mountain West programs, Utah and San Diego State, and took trips to Ole Miss and Auburn before visiting and verbaling to Cal this weekend.
Here are his video highlights.
This gives Cal two offensive line commits in this class, as Poutasi joins his Poly Bowl teammate Michael Saffell as the big Bears who will be faxing in their letter of intent this Wednesday. It gives offensive line coach Steve Greatwood his first official recruiting win in just over a week on the job, with Marques Tuiasosopo landing an assist.
