UPDATE: Cal has lost another commit. Jordan Genmark-Heath is headed to the Irish. The Bears are down to 10 commits in this class.

The California Golden Bears got a late surprise when Notre Dame defensive back commit Elijah Hicks decided to silently flip and enroll early in Berkeley as a California Golden Bear. Hicks is on campus and a welcome addition to a Cal defensive backfield loaded on talent.
Notre Dame might be on the verge of getting Cal right back. San Diego athlete and Cal commit Jordan Genmark-Heath got an offer from Notre Dame. Genmark-Heath took a trip to Notre Dame recently, and by all accounts loved what he saw.

So, that’s not promising. The good news is that Genmark-Heath is still being prioritized by the Cal coaching staff. He was one of the first visits from the new Cal coaching staff.
Thank you Coach Wilcox for taking the time out of your busy schedule and flying out to see me and my family.

With National Signing Day under a week away, Cal is in danger of seeing their recruiting class reduced to single digits. The Bears weren’t going to have a large class, but it’d be mildly alarming if Cal couldn’t find any more commits in the next week.
