1ST HALF:
Cal jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first 5 minutes of the game. From then on the Offense for both teams struggled to score. 5 minutes later at the 10 minute mark, Cal led 9-6. Washington State then found their rhythm on offense through the hot shooting of Malachi Flynn who led all scorers with 10 points on 4/6 shooting and 2⁄3 from 3. Cal shot an abysmal 35.7% from the field and 33.3% from 3, while allowing WSU to finish the half shooting 40.7% as a team from the field and 55.6% from 3.
2ND HALF:
Cal could not get the lead back until the 5 minute mark of the game. It remained a tight game with the score being tied up a few times. Jabari Bird knocked down his first field goal of the game with 54 seconds left. That basket also got him over the 1000 career points mark as well. Cal left it late and after a pair of missed FTs by Ivan Rabb, and a long official review that gave WSU the ball with 30 seconds left, Sam Singer forced a turnover by taking a charge with 2.7 seconds left. Charlie Moore was then fouled and he knocked down the following 2 free throws to ice the game for the Bears.
