Cal jumped out to a 6 point lead at the end of the half. Cal was led by some balanced scoring on the offensive side of the ball. Cal also played astounding defense, only allowing 10 made FGs. The Bears dominated the paint with 18 of their 34 points coming from the area. The Bears also dominated the boards, grabbing 25 rebounds to Washington’s 20.
Cal maintained the lead for a significant portion of the first 10 minutes, but after a 5 minute scoring drought for the Bears, Cal was tied at 40 with 11:27 left to play. Don Coleman was once again a spark plug off the bench once again. There was an injury scare as Don hit the deck hard after driving to the basket. Thankfully, he was able to walk off under his own strength after the trainers had taken a look at him. Ivan Rabb also completed 5th Double-Double in the last 6 games, with 20 points on 7/14 shooting and 14 rebounds.
