Cal in the NFL: Week 3

Cal Alum had some big weeks in the NFL this week, especially Aaron Rodgers and Marvin Jones

Aaron Rodgers had a week to remember throwing for 4 touchdowns (all in the 1st half) and 205 yards as the Packers defeated the Lions. Rodgers also tossed one to fellow bear Richard Rodgers. Rodgers has thrown for 7 td passes this year which has him tied for second in the league.

Marvin Jones had a big time week for the Lions finishing with 205 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is the leading receiver in the NFL with 408 yards.

C.J. Anderson had only 37 yards on 14 carries but still helped lead the Broncos to a win giving them an undefeated record. C.J. is the leader in Cal touchdowns this season but the Bears as a total are the number one college in scores.

Lorenzo Alexander continues to shine for a stout Bills defense as the 33 year old had 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble in a win against Arizona. Alexander seems to be revitalizing his career in Buffalo.

Desean Jackson had a nice game with 96 yards and a 44 yard touchdown reception helping the Redskins sneak by the Giants.

Tyson Alualu made his season debut this week, recording three tackles in a loss to Baltimore.

Trevor Davis made his NFL debut for the Packers this week, Davis set up a scoring play by drawing a 66 yard pass interference call. He had a 34 yard punt return that was called back for a penalty.

Shane Vereen rushed 11 times for 67 yards and a touchdown but unfortunately suffered torn triceps which will require surgery and may force him to miss the remainder of the season. Get well soon Shane.
