So much for a return to normal afternoon football. Cal will again be playing under the lights in Corvallis in two weeks.

Cal at Oregon State has been confirmed for a 6 PM kickoff on Pac-12 Networks. The Golden Bears will now end up playing seven of their first eight games in 2016 after 6 PM Pacific (the Hawaii game is a little weird but you get the idea. It’s been a brutal time to be a Cal fan on the East Coast). After the bye week Cal-USC and Cal-Oregon are both scheduled for late night weekday starts.
The good news is three of Cal’s final four games are at home, so there’s a good chance most of Cal’s games at Memorial Stadium will have earlier starts.
Oregon State is currently situated at 1-2 entering Pac-12 play and is probably the worst team in the conference. There aren’t much bigger must-wins than the game against the Beavers—it’s difficult to pave a path to a bowl game without it.
