The California Golden Bears are favored against a top-25 team.
That’s weird.
Cal opens as one-point favorites at home against the 18th-ranked Utah Utes after being underdogs three straight weeks in a row. This means Utah would probably be a slight favorite on a neutral field, and a bigger favorite at Rice Eccles, but Vegas views this game as a fairly close one.
Cal’s last meeting against Utah was similarly slated as being a close match-up. The Bears were just under touchdown underdogs or so on the road in Utah and ended up losing by just under a touchdown (never doubt the bookies in Vegas as being wizards of their craft).
Utah is currently sitting at 4–0 with dreams of their first ever Pac-12 South title. The Utes already have big wins against USC and BYU under their belt. Beating Cal will be paramount to those goals.
Cal fans, your thoughts on the line?
