Cal started the game going 3-and-out. San Diego State moved the ball a little but the Cal defense forced a 4th and short stop. The Bears had a 50 yard pass into the red zone wiped out by a holding penalty, so they had to punt it away. After another Cal defensive stop, Jordan Veasy fumbled it on the Cal side of the field, leading to a quick strike by the Aztecs.
Davis Webb led the Bears right down the field though, converting a 3rd down throw deep for 30+ yards to Vic Wharton, another 1st down throw to Patrick Worstell, and then a 33 yard touchdown strike to Bug Rivera. Tied game!
Then the Cal special teams missed a dozen tackles and let San Diego State return the kick back for a touchdown, and it's 14-7 San Diego State.
Bears weren't done though! Good running by Vic Enwere and Tre Watson got Cal 1st downs and Webb found Chad Hansen for a 49 yard touchdown!
San Diego State is driving thanks to a Pumphrey run. Can Cal keep pace?
This is your second quarter chat. Go Bears!
