After two days of actions, Calympians have now won at least one medal of each color/material. Day 3 Monday offers a couple more chances for more medals, and they will come in the signature swimming event of Cal Aquatics.

Women’s 100 Back - Baker wins the Silver!
Kathleen Baker (USA) has the top semifinal time - Golden Bears Natalie Coughlin in 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing and Missy Franklin in 2012 London have won the last 3 Women’s 100 Back Gold medals. Can the Cal sophomore join that elite company? Baker set new personal bests on Sunday in the prelim and the semifinal.
Men’s 100 Back - Murphy takes the Gold while setting a new Olympic Record!
Ryan Murphy (USA) has the top semifinal time. The Cal senior has the ability to potentially set a new World Record in this event.

Missy Franklin (USA) in 200 Free prelim and semifinals - 14th in prelim, swimming in semifinal 1 at 6:03 AM. Needs a top 8 finish to make final on Tuesday night.
Missy Franklin finished 8th in her heat. Did not advance.
Missy Franklin’s first Rio 2016 swims is on Day 3.
Tom Shields (USA) in 200 Fly prelim and semifinals - 20th in prelim. Did not advance.
Tom Shields will also compete in the 100 Fly, his better event.
Lily Zhang (USA) vs. Hyowon Suh (South Korea) - Lily Zhang lost 8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 7-11, 6-11 to the 12th seed.
The Cal student lost her Women’s Table Tennis 3rd Round match, but still has the team event.

John Mann and Luca Cupido (USA) in a key Men’s Water Polo match vs. Spain
USA fell to Spain 10-9.
The Americans will next play France at 7:40 AM on Wednesday.
