In what has to be the toughest news so far from fall camp, redshirt freshman Carlos Strickland is leaving the program. Strickland will be transferring to a program closer to home to be near his ailing grandfather.

This is tough news—Strickland was one of the fall camp youth movement who showcased that he could be a big contributor to the program this season.
Strickland is the second of the 2015 recruiting class to decide to move on from the program. Austin Aaron also made his decision to move on as well with his heart no longer in the game of football. He will remain at UC Berkeley.
Toughest decision of my life but excited to start a new chapter. Forever, Go Bears pic.twitter.com/eGUefMGpdh

Despite these losses, Cal still has a very deep wide receiver rotation, with outside wideouts like Chad Hansen, Jordan Duncan, Brandon Singleton, Patrick Worstell, Demetris Robertson, Vic Wharton and more to make up for the losses of Aaron and Strickland. But the margin for error diminishes with each loss.
