The offense and the defense of the California Golden Bears have had some hiccups, but what else would you expect for the first game of the season, let alone a week earlier and across the globe and on the other hemisphere? The Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors struggled early, but found their footing to stay close as Cal holds onto a mere 17–14 lead.
