After eight long months since Cal’s terrific bowl win over Air Force, it’s finally time for Cal Football! Last season was triumphant for Cal, who had its first winning season since 2011. However many consider this season to be a transition year for the Golden Bears, who lost many returning starters including #1 overall pick Jared Goff and many of his receiving core who are all battling for roster spots and boosts on the depth chart.

Next Saturday August 28th, Cal opens the season down under facing the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, who look to bounce back from a disappointing 2015 campaign going 3-10, 0-8 in the Mountain West Conference.

Injury Updates: LT Aaron Cochran (questionable), Patrick Mekari the potential starter at LT. WR Greyson Bankhead (out), DB Damariay Drew (out for season).

Depth Chart Updates: Davis Webb was named the starting quarterback. The Punt Returners will be Vic Wharton III, Bug Rivera, and Melquise Stovall. The Kick Returner will be Tre Watson with Khalfani Muhammed, Melquise Stovall, and Bug Rivera as other options.
