The California Golden Bears have played a lot of basketball games recently against the San Diego State Aztecs. They've lost all of their matchups with them this decade--Cal got blown out by Kawhi Leonard and San Diego State in 2010-11, lost a nailbiter in San Diego in 2011-12, and then got routed in the second half in Vegas last year.
Cal will try and even the score with three upcoming matchups the next three seasons. In part to make up for the cancellation of the Gonzaga series, Cal has put together a three game San Diego State series. One game will be at home with Cal in 2018, one will be on the road in San Diego in 2017, and the game this year will be in Sacramento at the newly opened Golden One Center.
Sacramento is generally friendly territory for Cal fans, but there are plenty of Aztecs in the area as well. This will probably be controversial for some Bears fans who want more premiere home games at Haas Pavilion--Sacramento is semi-neutral territory at best compared to a game at Oracle or San Jose or anywhere in the Bay Area vicinity.
What are your thoughts on the game Golden Bears?
Cal's game with San Diego State in Sacramento this season is scheduled for November 21st.
