Cal hoops has offered a scholarship to another 2017 top 100 prospect in small forward Kimani Lawrence. Depending on which recruiting service you look at, he is listed as currently playing in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or New Hampshire.

Here is where he ranks with each of the major recruiting services:

  • ESPN: 4 stars, 59th overall, 13th ranked small forward, top ranked player in Rhode Island
  • Scout: 4 stars, 63rd overall, 17th ranked small forward
  • Rivals: 4 stars, 46th overall
  • 247sports: 4 stars, 72nd overall, 16th ranked small forward, top ranked player in Massachusetts

Lawrence would be the first small forward in Cal's 2017 class should he commit, as Jemarl Baker, Alec Hickman and Juhwan Harris-Dyson are all guards.

Lawrence is a slasher who is comfortable finishing at the hoop with either hand. In the highlight video below he can be seen knocking down long-range jumpers and finishing at the hoop with acrobatic layups and thunderous rebound dunks.

Lawrence looks like a tremendous prospect with great athleticism, the type of player Cuonzo Martin and his staff are looking to consistently bring into the program.

To secure his commitment the Bears are going to have to beat some stiff competition in Arizona State, Butler, Creighton, Florida, Georgetown, Marquette, Miami (Fl.), Oregon, Pitt, Providence, Rhode Island, Texas, USC and Xavier.

Here are his highlights. What do you guys think about Lawrence?
