Kentucky Transfer Marcus Lee Commits To Cal

Kentucky Forward decides to spend his remaining eligibility at Berkeley.

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Former Deer Valley stand-out and Bay Area native returns to the warm embrace of the Bay Area. Marcus Lee was deciding between Cal and the Washington Huskies. His decision came after his visit to Berkeley (I think it was the proximity of Top Dog, Pedro's, and Zachary's that swayed his decision).

Marcus Lee played in all of Kentucky's games of the 2015-16 season and started in 20 of them, lead the team in shooting from the floor (68%), blocked shots (18), offensive rebounds (87), and holds the single Kentucky season record field goal percentage. Furthermore, he was elected to the SEC Community Service team both his Junior and Sophomore seasons.

He will have to sit out the 2016-17 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but will be able to join the Golden Bears for the 2017-18 season. He is a two time SEC Academics Honor Roll member, and SEC's male rep to the NCAA Leadership Forum.
