The hunt begins.

Here are the seven programs that are hoping to vie for the services of former Texas A&M Aggies commit Tate Martell.

Cal has made the top seven. Who are the other main competitors?

California Golden Bears: Martell has a good relationship with offensive coordinator Jake Spavital from his time recruiting Tate to Texas A&M.

Colorado Buffaloes: The Buffs are a bit surprising to be in the mix, but it would be super cool to see Colorado land a marquee prospect.

Miami Hurricanes: It's Miami. They always make so many of these lists, especially for the free visits. Mark Richt is getting on the recruiting trail.

Ohio State Buckeyes: Ohio State figures to be the favorite here.  Martell has spoken favorably of the Buckeyes for quite some time.

UCLA Bruins: UCLA will need to have to figure out who their replacement for Josh Rosen is going forward.  Why not go after another five-star prospect?

USC Trojans: USC always seems to make these lists.

West Virginia Mountaineers: If Martell is looking for another Air Raid program, West Virginia is the other main program aside from Cal that could offer that.
