Friday result: Washington 4, Cal 2
Saturday result: Cal 7, Washington 1
Snapping a long Pac-12 losing streak (not counting the non-conference midweek win over Stanford, the Bears have lost 5 straight before Saturday), Cal Baseball got a much needed win on Saturday night. Bears also managed to snap Washington's season high 5 game win streak in the process.
The rubber game of the three game series will take place at 1 pm this afternoon. In a Pac-12 season with plenty of parity, the Bears can get a big lift in taking this series from one of the current Pac leader in UW (or fall 4 losses behind in the standings).
2nd baseman Robbie Tenerowicz continues his hot hitting on Saturday and drove in 4 runs. Mitchell "El Gaucho" Kranson also contributed a key base hit to drive in 2. Bears got a solid outing (7 inning, only one homerun allowed for a lone run) from freshman Tanner Dodson who was making his first weekend start (Dodson had mostly pitched in relief on the weekends while starting a couple of games midweek).
GO BEARS!
