Taariq Johnson has committed to Cal. Johnson took an unofficial to Berkeley and decided to make an early decision to be a Golden Bear. He’s the second commit in the 2016 recruiting class for the Golden Bears, joining defensive end Gabe Cherry.

Measuring in at 6-2 and 213 pounds, Johnson is ranked as a consensus four-star commit. 247Sports Composite ranks Johnson as the 259th national prospect, the 33rd best wide receiver and the 32nd best prospect out of the state of California.
Take a look at Johnson’s highlights and you can see the emphasis the coaching staff seems to be putting on getting more size and strength!
Johnson’s offers included Arizona, Baylor, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Washington. Cal is looking to take its usual contingent of 3 to 5 wide receivers in this class, and it's hard to think of the Bears making a better start than with landing Johnson.
Welcome to Cal Taariq! Go Bears!
