Barring an unexpected turn of events, Jared Goff is about to be the first California Golden Bear selected with the first overall pick since 1975.
It's an amazing accomplishment for a player who started his career in the most miserable of situations. The Bears were 1-11 in Goff's first season and looked like one of the worst teams in college football. Mostly because of Goff, Cal turned around to become nearly a bowl eligible team the next season, then improved to 8-5 in his final year. Goff broke all sorts of passing records in his three seasons at Cal, and was probably on pace to challenge many more records if he stuck around for a fourth season.
