A few late afternoon Cal basketball updates!
Cal's loss to Arizona didn't ding up their bracketology too much. The Bears are currently seeded 5 via the latest Bracket Matrix, although some of the latest brackets have Cal falling to a 6 seed. ESPN has Cal as a 5 seed to face the winner of Michigan and St. Bonaventure; SB Nation has Cal as the first 6 seed. If the Bears can keep on winning though and advance far in the Pac-12 Tournament, a 4 or 5 seed is in play.
For those pondering potential matchups,
Current 11 seeds: VCU, St. Bonaventure, St. Mary's, Cincinnati, Michigan, Temple
Current 12 seeds: Valparaiso, San Diego State, Monmouth, Arkansas Little Rock
Courtesy of Bovada, Cal currently holds 33 to 1 national title odds, tied for tops among Pac-12 teams (Arizona and Oregon). Utah trails a bit at 66 to 1. Kansas and Michigan State are tied up at the top at 5 to 1.
