Cal Women's Basketball wins opener in Pac-12 Tournament, 66-63 over Utah in OT

With Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Anigwe already fouled out, Bears still managed a win in OT to stay alive in the Pac-12 tournament.

Bears win!

Once down by as much as 11 points, the Golden Bears found a way to win and advance in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament today over the favorite Utah (who beat the Bears twice in regular season). Bears played the entire OT without Kristin Anigwe, who had fouled out.

Mickayala Cowling hit the shot clock beating game winner here.

Next game info - Bears will face Arizona State next.

The Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament in Seattle is getting underway today! And first up at 11:30am is the #10 seed California Golden Bears and the #7 Utah Utes. The Bears played the Utes tough but squandered a 17 point halftime lead at home and lost a tight game in Salt Lake. Third try could be the charm for the Cal Bears, who could use a win to keep their season alive and give themselves reason to believe in themselves.

This has been a tough year, but it's still fun to watch the Bears improve and grow. This is one of, if not the, last chances to see Kristine Anigwe continue her amazing freshmen campaign, which saw her win EIGHT Pac-12 Freshmen of the Week awards, a new record! Can Gabby Green get back to her elite ways? Will Asha Thomas and Ma'Ane Mosley continue their (more low-key compared to Kristine) amazing freshmen showings? Who will be the surprising hero that lifts the team to victory?

The game will be on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Bay Area at 11:30am. It's pretty early in the day but hopefully anyone at work can get it on their computers or phones.

Go Bears!
