What do all three of the last Super Bowl champions have in common? Amongst other things, a running back who attended the number on public university in the world. Daniel Lasco hopes to continue the trend of Bears wearing rings and carry on the legacy of RBU. Lasco was one of the better running backs in Cal history, racking up the 13th most rushing yards in school history. His injury plagued season in 2015 definitely hurt his draft stock as pre-season he was ranked as the seventh best prospect.
Bear Talk caught up with the former Cal running back and here are a few of the standout quotes from the interview.
On what the NFL draft means to him:
- "It's something I've been dreaming about ever since I was a little pipsqueak with a football in my hand."
Regarding his standout Shrine Bowl performance:
- "I don't believe my confidence ever completely vanished. It was just a little rusty."
Lastly, on what the next couple of months mean to him:
- "I know I need to impress the scouts, it's going to be a fun adventure. These next couple months are exciting and stressful. It's a time of my life I'm never going to forget."
