Live Stats, although they might blow up from overuse
Hey, remember last year when Cal’s defense ‘allowed’ 99 points in an 18 point win? Remember when Kristine Anigwe scored 43 points but sat for most of the 4th quarter?
Well, we’re going to get something similar, because Sacramento State is back in Haas Pavilion, and they are playing with the same style and the same pace as last year, and you know our Bears are more than willing to run with them.
The Hornets are 3-5, and have already given up 99, 99, 102, and 111 points in losses. Cal is also the best team they will have faced this season. This could get ugly.
For all of their weirdness, the system kinda works at the level of the Big Sky, where Sac St. went 10-8 last year. It doesn’t work against the top 25 level talent Cal has.
Due to time constraints (I’m actually on Sac St’s campus today helping my wife with a field trip!) I can’t go into the usual detail. Suffice to say this is a game Cal will win, and they will likely be able to name the amount of points they want to score. The real drama will be in what offensive records, if any, Cal might set.
