Cal is losing at least two offensive linemen from their 2016 squad. Senior left guard Chris Borrayo and right tackle Steven Moore have used up all their eligibility. So Cal will have to rely at least on two new faces next year.
One name that was circulated as another potential departure was tackle Aaron Cochran. Cochran was rumored to potentially be graduating and potentially moving on from the Bears after the 2016 season. However, it’s sounding like Cochran will return for his final year of eligibility.
Hearing from a source close to the situation that Aaron Cochran is returning for the 2017 season.

Wow, that was so reportery of me
Cal will thus only need to replace two of their offensive linemen from this cycle. Patrick Mekari is likely to come in and replace Moore as Cal’s other tackle, while Semisi Uluave is potentially the next guard up to replace Borrayo. Cal’s offensive line probably won’t be quite as upstanding as it was in 2016, but with Cochran’s likely return the Bears are only likely to see a slight step backward.
Welcome back Aaron!
