Cal football NFL Week 15 update: Aaron Rodgers comes up clutch

Aaron Rodgers launched a 60-yard strike to Jordy Nelson that moved the ball all the way to the Bears' 14-yard line to set up Mason Crosby's game-winning 32-yard field goal two plays later.

Long snapper LP Ladouceur and his Dallas Cowboys have clinched an NFC playoff spot. Six other teams with winning records in the NFC feature Cal Bears, with 11 Cal alum overall among the group. That includes NFC South leader Atlanta (Alex Mack), NFC North leader Detroit (Marvin Jones), and three wild card hopefuls in the New York Giants (Shane Vereen), Tampa Bay (Bryan Anger, Chris Conte), Washington (Maurice Harris, DeSean Jackson, Nick Sundberg).

Mack started his 14th consecutive game for the Falcons in a 41-13 home victory. Vereen had 20 yards from scrimmage in a 17-6 home win for the Giants.

Desean Jackson compiled seven receptions for 111 yards that were his second most of his campaign. Marvin Jones had 41 yards on three catches.

Stephen Anderson (Texans) and Brian Schwenke (Titans) both played off the bench in their respective team's Week 15 wins. Anderson caught one pass for seven yards. Schwartz has started 78 consecutive games in a row. Justin Forsett rushed for 10 carries for 37 yards while adding another four receptions for 16 yards in Denver’s defeat to New England.

Houston will host Tennessee in the regular-season finale on January 1 with the winner likely taking the AFC South title.

Lorenzo Alexander had a season-high 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks to run his career-high totals to 67 tackles and 11.5 sacks in a Bills win, while Cameron Jordan contributed 1.0 sack and 2.0 TFL among his three tackles in New Orleans' 48-41 win at Arizona.
