Cal offensive line recruiting: Casey Roddick visits, has Bears in top five

Can the Bears land some big uglies?

If Cal is going to land a big-time offensive line recruit, it might come in the form of 6’4, 342 pound offensive guard Casey Roddick. A consensus three-star prospect and a top four offensive guard, Roddick seems to be very interested in the Bears. Roddick was blown away by his Cal visit this summer, and upon visiting Berkeley earlier this month expressed similar happy feelings.

The Ventura offensive guard seems to be a big fan of Cal, already putting the Bears in his top five this summer, and the Bears could afford to add him to the list of commits. Michael Saffell out of Huntington Beach is currently the only Cal commit. Roddick doesn’t just look big, he plays big too.

But there is plenty of competition, especially in the Pac-12. Roddick likes Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State and Utah as well. Roddick plans to visit Utah this week for the Washington game, and you can expect his recruitment to be competitive until the end.
