Despite all the coaching uncertainty that Cal football is currently dealing with, recruiting is starting to pick up momentum. And it’s not just for 2017! The 2018 class has found its second commitment in a matter of weeks.
First quarterback Adrian Martinez signed up to be a Golden Bear. Now it’s local Antioch athlete Omari Harris, who made his commitment this morning.
Truly blessed owe it to God and my family and Cal for the acceptance. From everyone at the shop to every coach at Antioch high school. pic.twitter.com/Wiey0Lt1HT

Harris is probably a linebacker but has shown some interest in playing running back as well. 247Composite ranks him as a three star (0.8752) and the 365th best national prospect, the 30th best outside linebacker, and the 41st best prospect in the state of California. He held early offers from Utah and Nebraska.
Obviously, Cal could use him at defense immediately. But early reports have Harris starting out as a running back.
"I'll play more running back and some slot next year to show that versatility and I've spent this year working on a lot of things behind Najee," said Harris.

Here’s a look at his junior highlights.
For those who are wondering if Omari Harris is related to five-star Antioch running back and Alabama commit Najee Harris, no he isn’t. But with Harris still visiting Cal on the regular prior to signing day, having a teammate in his ear couldn’t in the least bit hurt.
Welcome to Cal Omari! GO BEARS!
