Busy day for Cal recruiting, as the Bears land their second commit of the day (the first being 2018 quarterback Adrian Martinez), and this one is a 2017 recruit at a position of need. Offensive guard Casey Roddick from St. Bonaventure decided to commit to the California Golden Bears today!

Roddick is a three-star (0.8484) prospect according to 247Sports, and is ranked as the 36th best offensive guard and the 76th best California prospect. Roddick picked Cal over other Pac-12 programs like Oregon and Colorado and had Cal in his top four for quite some time.
Roddick becomes Cal’s second offensive line commit of this class, joining Michael Saffell. The Bears probably want at least one or two more offensive lineman in this class, so don’t imagine the recruiting work is done here as Cal looks to keep their offense humming at an optimal level.
Check out Roddick’s highlights.
Welcome to Cal Casey! Go Bears!
