The final game of 2016...right?

The battle for 5–7 rages on this Saturday. Barring some bizarro bowl openings, Cal and UCLA will conclude their 2016 seasons next Saturday. Kickoff is announced for 4 PM Pacific in Berkeley, 7 PM Eastern. The game will be a national telecast on ESPN2.

Cal and UCLA each come into this game 4–7, reeling from decisive defeats to rivals Stanfurd and USC. UCLA came into this season with Pac-12 title aspirations, only to see them unravel when Josh Rosen went down midseason with a shoulder injury.

Cal will finish up the season with two afternoon games, although both will end up concluding in the early evening hours. This season, Cal has played a grand total of eight night games, three mid-afternoon games, and one Australia game.

Cal has lost all three of its games to UCLA in the Sonny Dykes era. This is probably their best shot to end that streak of futility before the year turns back to the house of horrors in Pasadena.
